Gospel: Luke 13, 18-21
Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that a person took and planted in the garden. When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and ‘the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches.” Again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch of dough was leavened.”

Reflection
The kingdom of God is a network of relationships rather than a place. In the Gospel, Jesus compared the kingdom of God with a mustard seed and a yeast. The Kingdom of God is the seed thrown into the ground that is grown which is like a word of God which started from few people known and just like a seed it grows and develops and will branch out. The image of yeast completes the frame of the seed. Here, we are the yeast, as people of God we have the duty to spread the love and the Word of God to people around us. As a fully grown mustard seed (ourselves), how do we recognize the goodness of each one?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
According to the Lasallian Guiding Principles, the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows us to discover God’s active presence in his Word. Meaning to say, we should live accordingly to the word of God. As a Lasallian we should embody and read His words to find God and serving other because Saint La Salle believes that God is present in everyone. As Lasallian we need to be an agent on spreading his Word and knowledge.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving us a wonderful day. Thank You for giving us a day to see Your wonderful creation. We will cherish them and be thankful for them. Help us to keep our heart clean from hatred, and to live honestly and fearlessly that no outward failure can dishearten us or take away the joy of conscious integrity. We pray for those who lost their hope in life. May You shower them with strength and love. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Your Son. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
