Gospel: Luke 14:1, 7-11
On a sabbath Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully.
He told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table.
“When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not recline at table in the place of honor.
A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him, and the host who invited both of you may approach you and say, ‘Give your place to this man,’ and then you would proceed with embarrassment
to take the lowest place.
Rather, when you are invited, go and take the lowest place so that when the host comes to you he may say,
‘My friend, move up to a higher position.’
Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us we must always remain humble and that we should not become too proud of ourselves because the more pride we have, the more embarrassed we will feel when we are taken down just like the man in the story of Jesus, with his pride he took a seat in the place of honor but when we was asked to move, he felt embarrassed. If we are always humble then we will not feel embarrassed when we are taken down, instead when we are given recognition, we will feel exalted because come from being unknown to being known with glory.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “social-political liberation refers to freedom from unjust and dehumanizing structures and social arrangements for participation in social arrangements that facilitate respect for human dignity and solidarity.” This means that us Lasallians must respect other’s position and must always give way for those that is deserving for the top position because doing so will preserve not only his dignity, but yours as well, Also, we must not boast our position and must always settle at the bottom which will in turn protect our dignity and nourish the humbleness inside us. Us Lasallians must embody the spirit of humbleness to demonstrate and spread the humbleness of the Lord.

Prayer
Lord, help us find peace in this world full of fightings, give us strength so that we can spread Your word and especially Your humbleness, lead us to become a good, forgiving and humble individuals, help us lower our pride and uplift our kindness and willingness to preserve people’s dignity by giving them what is just and what they deserved, This we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lasallian Prayer for Peace
We pray to you, O Lord,
God of life and God of those who hope!
Listen to our prayer for the whole world:
For peace among all peoples,
For prosperity in all lands.
We pray to you that evil may be overcome
And that all wars may end.
We pray to You especially for the members
Of our Lasallian Family,
Who suffer from war, injustice and intolerance,
And for children and young people who are poor and neglected.
We pray too, God, for peace in our lives;
In our towns, in our schools,
In our families and in our own hearts.
We pray for a peace that the world cannot give us.
We pray for a peace that will make us whole
And transform us into ambassadors of justice for Your sake.
Lord, give us Your peace! Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist De La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
